Islamic, Arab organizations condemn Israeli plans to occupy Gaza
In a written statement, the Gaza Contact Group—comprising the OIC, GCC, and Arab League—rejected Israel’s occupation plan, calling it a violation of international law, a serious escalation, and a continuation of illegal control over Palestinian territory. The statement stressed that the plan undermines international legitimacy and peace efforts.
The group criticized Israel for ongoing “massacres, forced displacement, land annexation, starvation, and settler violence” in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem, warning that these actions could amount to crimes against humanity. The statement demanded an immediate halt to attacks and full, unconditional access for humanitarian aid into Gaza.
Additionally, the organizations expressed support for ceasefire and prisoner exchange efforts led by Egypt, Qatar, and the US. They emphasized the importance of implementing an Arab-Islamic partnership to reconstruct Gaza and encouraged active participation in an upcoming reconstruction conference in Cairo. The statement held Israel fully accountable for crimes committed and urged UN Security Council members to uphold their legal and humanitarian responsibilities.
