Iran Urges Global Action Over Israel's Attacks
(MENAFN) Iran issued a firm warning on Wednesday, asserting that Israel's military operations in Syria represent an unparalleled danger to global peace and stability.
The Iranian government called on both the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the United Nations (UN) to respond swiftly and decisively to what it views as an increasingly perilous situation.
In a formal statement, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei vehemently denounced Israel’s recent airstrikes in Syria.
He highlighted that the assaults specifically targeted essential civilian infrastructure and deepened Israel’s ongoing occupation of Syrian territories.
"Today, it is clear to all that the Zionist regime represents the greatest threat to peace and stability in the region," Baghaei stated, emphasizing the severity of the current circumstances.
He further noted that "this regime, benefiting from the military and political support of the US as well as other Western countries—particularly Germany, the UK and France—is now threatening international peace and security in an unprecedented manner." Baghaei underscored the role of Western backing in enabling Israel’s actions.
The spokesperson also cautioned that the global community’s silence regarding what he described as genocide and war crimes in Gaza has only emboldened further aggression by Tel Aviv across neighboring regions.
Calling for urgent diplomatic measures, Baghaei appealed to the OIC and the UN to intervene immediately and decisively to counter Israel’s escalating provocations and its expansionist agenda in the region.
